In the development of renewable energy, the hydrogen industry requires innovative technologies for the distribution and compression of the gas, for which particular multi-stage compressors are used. Between the different compression phases, aimed at increasing the pressure level of the hydrogen, the gas must be cooled. Multistream PCHE plate heat exchangers find here a very interesting application, being not only able to withstand the extreme levels of temperature and pressure that hydrogen reaches along the different compression stages, but which can also be made in multistream, having a single exchanger that cools the gas between the different phases.
